Get Smart About Art
Get Smart About Art is a series of in-class workshops in which a particular artist and corresponding style is introduced and a follow up art project is completed by the class. Students typically study 2-3 artists. Grade level coordinators organize each workshop and each session includes a parent volunteer presenter and several parent volunteer art project assistants. The GSAA program runs from late winter through the beginning of June, and culminates in an all school Art Show and Music Festival. This program is run by the East School PTO Volunteers in partnership with every classroom teacher. Get Smart About Art is funded by the generous donations of East School Families to the Annual Appeal.
