The East School PTO is guided by a Board of Directors, each of whom is responsible for overseeing the activities of a number of PTO committees.
President: Suzanne Kracunas
As President of the PTO, Suzanne is responsible for overseeing all PTO fundraising activities and programs for East School. Not a stranger to the PTO, Suzanne has been actively involved for the last four years. She has two children at East--a second grader and a fourth grader. In addition to her PTO duties, Suzanne is a member of the Hingham Mother's Club. Her new hobby is participating in Spartan Races. Email: Suzanne Kracunas |
Vice-President: Julie Robinson
Julie has been an instrumental part of the East PTO for the past five years. In her new role as Vice President, she will work closely with the President to oversee all fundraising and PTO programs at East. She has a fifth grader. Outside of the PTO, she is a Cardiac Nurse at Mass General Hospital, and loves boating, skiing, and spending time with her family and friends. Email: Julie Robinson |
Secretary: Nancy Faris
As the Secretary of the PTO, Nancy is responsible for recording the organization’s meeting minutes and event calendar. Nancy is the mother of 5 children, including an East School Kindergartener and a second grader. When she is not with her children, you can find Nancy on the tennis court, at the barn, or romping through the woods with her two beloved pups, Monkey and Zamboni. Email: Nancy Faris |
Treasurer: Katie Connelly
As Treasurer, Katie is responsible for monitoring our monthly budget, preparing PTO financial statements, processing reimbursement requests, and ensuring the PTO continues to demonstrate fiscal responsibility while investing wisely in our children's education. Katie has 4 children, including an East School fourth and second grader. Katie is a certified public accountant with a Masters in Business Administration, and is currently employed by Partners Healthcare. Email: [email protected] |
Appeal Chair: Chrissy Roberts
Chrissy has been active in the PTO since her daughter was in the first Kindergarten class when East opened in 2009. She has been on the Board for four years, first as an Assistant Treasurer, then as President. For the last two years she has been in charge of the Annual Appeal, East School's largest fundraiser. She has a fifth grade son at East, and outside of the PTO, Chrissy is active in the town, in her church, and in trying to convince her husband they need a fourth pet. Email: Chrissy Roberts |
Appeal Treasurer: Sarah Kuzniar
This is Sarah's second year on the PTO as the Appeal Treasurer. She works closely with the Treasurer and Appeal Chair to track annual donations and matching gifts. She has a first grade daughter at East. Sarah owns The Bar Method studios in Hingham and Boston. In her free time she enjoys baking and needlepointing. Email: Sarah Kuzniar |
SEPAC Representative: Jen Doan
This is Jen's third year on the PTO. In addition to her work as the SEPAC Representative, she also serves as the PTO Co-Fundraising Chair (see below), and has been instrumental planning the Halloween Bash and Field Day. Communications Co-Chair: Sarah D'Souza
Sarah has been a PTO member for five years. As Communications Chair, she oversees all communication on behalf of the PTO to parents and the East School community. She has three daughters: one in Kindergarten, one in second grade, and one in fifth grade. Outside of the PTO, she works in Communications at Edelman, and teaches Communications at Boston University. Communications Co-Chair: Kathie Cronin
Kathie serves as Photographer for the East PTO. In addition, she oversees the activities of the Communications Committee including all major design and photo edits to the East PTO website. She also co-manages the development of the East School PTO Digest monthly and is working with a committee of parent volunteers to produce the Fifth Grade Yearbook. Kathie has a son at Hingham High School and a daughter in Fifth Grade at East. Activities Co-Chair: Heidi Collins
As Co-Chair of the Activities Committee, Heidi is in charge of planning and overseeing all activities of the PTO. She has been a PTO Board member for four years, previously as the Assistant Treasurer and the Annual Appeal Chair. She has a fourth grader and a first grader at East. Ashley has two daughters at East: Summer is in second grade, and Savs is in the Kids in Action Pre-K program. In addition to planning fun activities for her kids and their classmates, this year, Ashley is determined to master her cotton candy skills. Email: Ashley Kalish |

Michelle joined the Board as Co-Fundraising Chair last year after serving as Field Day Committee Co-Chair for two years. She will help plan and execute all fundraising events at East. Fundraising Co-Chair: Julia Whitney
As Co-Fundraising Chair, Julia participates in the East School Council, helps organize and manage Field Day and oversees fundraising activities and events for the PTO. With a fourth grader at East, she has been a PTO member for the last three years. Enrichment Chair: Kirsten Moore
Kirsten has been involved in the PTO since her family moved here four years ago. She has a daughter in sixth grade at HMS, and a second grade daughter at East. She has been involved in all kinds of PTO positions as her girls have worked their way through East such as room mom, enrichment coordinator, GSAA coordinator, and her favorite, library volunteer. As the this year's Enrichment Chair, she will coordinate all enrichment activities such as field trips and in-school presentations for all of the grades. The Enrichment Committee researches activities that would enhance the school's curriculum, schedules the activities, and pays for the activities through the generous funds given through the Annual Appeal. Member-At-Large: Yvette Kanter
As Member-At-Large, Yvette provides guidance and support to the Board chairs and committees. A member of the PTO for seven years, she has served in many capacities, most recently on the Community Service committee. In addition to her PTO service, Yvette heads up operations for a global consulting firm, serves as a Foster Care Reviewer for DCF, and serves as a Vice Chair of the St. Paul's and Resurrection Collaborative Parish Council.
